 Thanks to all who came to our first teacher gathering. I've heard from many about wanting to connect even more. Me, too! And yet, I have to be honest, I was over-whelmed. For those at the gathering - remember the exercise we did on how Giving & Receiving show up in your work? Well, the day after the event, I crashed. I felt anything but radically successful, as my mind went into a tail-spin about what was NOT working. I came to realize that I had been giving too much - to my clients, students, and the community. My bucket was bone-dry. I had nothing left to give and instead I really 'gave-it' to myself. So, I did what any good yogi does, turned off the computer, went to class, meditated, danced, ate good food, and played with my son.
I was reminded to slow-down, do my practice, and ASK FOR HELP. (Read the article below - "CommUnity Events-Help"!)

Bizz Tip: The 7 - 11 Rule

If you're like me, it takes forever to find the motivation to try something new - even if somewhere deep inside I know it's 'just what I need'.
 Many of you know that I love to dance. At age 40, after 15 years of NOT dancing, a friend gave me a postcard for Ecstatic Dance and was strongly told, "You have to do this."
You know what I did? I put the postcard on my fridge, and glancing at it from time-to-time would think, "I've got to do that". When I got irritated about not doing it, the postcard with the dancing figures, would be moved to a more strategic place - as a reminder to go - NEXT WEEK.
I did the fridge-shuffle for an ENTIRE YEAR before it clicked that 'now' was the time to go. What was that click that finally said , "YES"? I DO NOT KNOW. What I do know is that it took seeing that postcard many times, hearing about the dance from others, and awareness of my own discomfort before I actually saw the postcard in a whole new 'YES' way - and started to dance again. (I haven't stopped since.)

7 - 11 times before saying YES!
'See' is any kind of connection. IE: hear your name, read a postcard, bump into you in person...
There are so many FUN ways to BE SEEN! Here's a few of my favorites:
* Join an event in which you have an interest or commonality
ie: I just MC'd a Yogathon on Mercer Island and now have 2 new clients.
* Throw a (free) 'networking' event. (And Use YogaBizz!!)
ie: Consider this: Do you feel more connected to me after my teacher event in April?
* Simply do what you love!
ie: I am still dancing! Many of my clients say, "yes" after seeing me boogey-down!
* ADVERTISE - It's easy & fun on YogaBlaze!
Be seen, on a monthly basis in the only Yoga newsletter to over 10,000 Seattle yogis!

TEACHER NEEDED! THRIVE LIFE YOGA in N. Seattle is currently seeking teachers for weekend classes. Saturday core class 3pm, & a restorative/gentle class Sunday 5pm. Training will be provided for the core class. Prenatal experience , though not required, is preferred for the Sunday class. Email resume, with experience, certifications, & years of teaching in any Hatha method, to Jeff@ThriveLifeYoga.com.
Dept. of Revenue is ruling that yoga classes need to be taxed. Washington State's RCW was written that physical fitness classes are taxable but instructional lesson classes are not. Many studios have not charged tax because of this. Now the DOR is asking many studios for 3 years back taxes. Need some support?
